TRUMPET PLAYER
As an active freelance musician in the Philadelphia and Atlantic City area, Nick can be heard locally as the Lead Trumpet Player with various big bands, rock/top 40 groups, traveling shows and musical theater productions.
Professionally, Nick has played Trumpet with; The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Harry James Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, The Artie Shaw Orchestra, The Lars Halle Jazz Orchestra, The Jim Ward/Ed Vezinho Big Band, The Philly Big Band - Featuring Matt Gallagher, The Phil Giordano Big Band, The John Clark Big Band, The Rag Dolls, The Big Horn Cavaliers, The Clef Club Big Band, The Jump City Jazz Orchestra, The Brass Tacks Orchestra, The Millennium Jazz Band, Streaks of Blue Big Band, The John Roesch Big Band, The Peter Scott Ruben Orchestra, The Philadelphia Jazz Orchestra, The Musical Tree Orchestra, The Eddie Bruce Band, The Big City Band, Chico’s Vibe, All About Me, The Hoppin’ Jon Orchestra, The John Hoey Orchestra, EBE: Entertainment Beyond Expectation, as well as playing in the pit orchestra’s of; The Merriam Theater – Philadelphia, PA, The Media Theater - Media, PA, The Surflight Theater - Beach Haven, NJ, and with Our Gang Players - Manahawkin, NJ.
At only twenty-three years old, Nick has had the privilege to share the stage with notable performers, such as: Aretha Franklin, Ronald Isley of "The Isley Brothers," John Swana, Jimmy Bruno, Larry McKenna, Stanley Clarke, Matt Neiss, Grant Stewart, Larry O’Brien, Julia Rich, Fred Radke, Bootsie Barnes, John Fedchock, Tony Kadleck, Joe Mosello, Bernie Dressel, Gregg Field, Ron Kerber, Tim Hagans, George Rabbai, Chris Farr, Matt Gallagher, Peter Scott Ruben, and Beru Review, just to name a few.
Nick can also be heard quite frequently performing with; The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble, The Hickory Brass Band, The Broad Street Brass Quartet, and The Philadelphia Sinfonia Orchestra, who has performed side by side with The Philadelphia Orchestra, The Philadelphia Men’s Choir and The Philadelphia Boy’s Choir. During his undergraduate studies, Nick recorded on two CD’s with The University of The Arts Big Band at Larry Gold’s “The Studio” and Vic Steven’s “Giant Steps Recording Studio." He can also be heard on Jim Gallgher’s “All About Love,” Julie Charnet’s debut album featuring Bootsie Barns, as well as playing on a live album with The South Jersey Area Wind Ensemble; Conducted by renowned conductor Keith Brion of The New Sousa Band.
Upon graduating from The University of The Arts in May of 2009, Nick was hired to play split-lead trumpet with The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. This included an eight month tour, with performances in over forty US states, areas of Canada, and a five week throughout Japan. In addition, Nick has toured throughout Europe with The Philadelphia Jazz Orchestra, performed as a featured soloist at the 2009 Montreal Jazz Festival, performed on the Philly CBS-3 Half-Time Show, played at Yankee Stadium, Giants Stadium, marched in the Macy's Thanks Giving Day Parade, performed at the Awarding of the Doctorate of Fine Arts to internationally recognized bassist Stanley Clarke, and has performed at the 2006 International Trumpet Guild Conference at Rowan University, in Glassboro, NJ.
